Appointment of Director

North River is pleased to announce the appointment of Brett Richards as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect. North River is an AIM listed company focussed on resource exploration and development in the Southern Africa.

Mr. Richards, who has a degree in engineering, began his career at Co-Steel Inc. in 1985 where he worked for 16 years in several operating and executive positions. He has since worked for a number of mining companies including Katanga Mining and Kinross Gold. Most recently he was the Chief Executive Officer of Avocet Mining plc where he also served on the board. Brett is expected to contribute great value in terms of both his technical and financial expertise.

Martin French, Executive Director of North River, said, "We are very pleased to have attracted someone of the calibre of Brett to North River. As CEO of Avocet Mining he was responsible for three operating gold mines, until the sale of Avocet's South East Asian assets in 2011, and has tremendous expertise in mergers, acquisitions and operations in the mining sector, particularly in Africa. Brett has an entrepreneurial nature and a broad network of contacts, and as a Non-Executive Director, he will be actively involved in advising all functions of the company and on opportunities to help it grow."

Brett Richards, newly appointed Non-Executive Director of the company, said, "I am very much looking forward to working with the board and management in taking the company to the next stage in its development.
