Appointment of non-executive director
JD Wetherspoon plc ("the Company") announces that Sir Richard Beckett Bt QC, has been appointed a non-executive director of the Company, with immediate effect.
Sir Richard, aged 65, was called to the Bar in 1965 and took silk in 1987. He was one of the pre-eminent practitioners in regulatory and licensing matters and previously acted for the Company, amongst many others, for thirty years.
Tim Martin, Chairman of JD Wetherspoon, said:
"I am delighted that Richard has agreed to join the Board. He has a wealth of relevant experience, especially of UK licensing matters, and I look forward to his input and wise counsel for the benefit of the Company going forward."
There is no further disclosure required by 9.6.13 of the UK Listing Rules.
