Appointment of Non-Executive Director

EMED Mining Public Ltd ("EMED Mining" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of China-based Mr. Hui ("Harry") Liu as a non-executive director of the Company as of 1 October 2012. Mr Liu has been appointed as a director of the Company by Yanggu Xiangguang Copper Co. Ltd ("XGC") pursuant to its rights under the subscription agreement with the Company dated 7 July 2012.

Mr. Harry Liu (aged 43) is a Vice President at XGC, where he has been employed since November 2011. XGC is one of the world's largest copper smelting, refining and processing groups located in Shandong province of China and is a significant shareholder in EMED Mining with a current shareholding of 137,626,181 ordinary shares, representing approximately 12% of the shares currently in issue.

Prior to joining XGC, Mr. Liu has held a number of senior management and marketing positions in the mineral and financial industries in Shanghai and Hong Kong, including roles as Marketing Manager at BHP Billiton Marketing AG and Director at BNP Paribas Asia. Mr. Liu has no other directorships.

Mr. Liu graduated with a Bachelor´s Degree in Economics from Zhejiang University in Zhejiang Province, China.

Mr. Ronnie Beevor, Chairman of EMED Mining said: "I warmly welcome Harry Liu to the EMED Mining board. EMED will benefit greatly from his broad knowledge of the global copper industry, and particularly his experience in the Chinese and other Asian markets."

Mr. Liu has confirmed there is no additional information under Schedule 2, paragraph (g) of the AIM Rules for Companies which needs to be disclosed.
