Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Alumasc (ALU.L), the premium building and engineering products group, announces the appointment of Keith Walden as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from today's date.

Mr Walden was appointed Non-Executive Chairman of the Group's subsidiary company, Alumasc Precision Limited ("Alumasc Precision"), on 6 June this year to oversee the recovery of that business.

Mr Walden is a Chartered Engineer, with a lifetime career in the engineering industry. He was a director of the Group, from 1986 until his retirement in 2002, with specific responsibility for Alumasc Precision. He is currently a Trustee of the Alumasc Group Pension Scheme.

Mr Walden will work closely with the Group Board and with Managing Director Les White and his team at Alumasc Precision to facilitate the division's recovery to sustainable profitability.

There is no other information concerning Mr Walden which requires disclosure under Rule LR 9.6.13 of the UK Listing Authority Listing Rules.
