Appointment of Non-executive Director

Marston's PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Backhouse as a Non-executive Director with effect from 1 February 2012.

Nick is currently the Senior Independent Director of Guardian Media Group PLC and a Non-executive Director of All3Media.

He was previously Deputy Chief Executive Officer of David Lloyd Leisure Group (2008 - 2011), Chief Financial Officer of National Car Parks (2006 - 2007), Chief Financial Officer of The Laurel Pub Company (2002 - 2005) and Chief Financial Officer of Freeserve (1999 - 2001). Prior to this he was a Managing Director at ING Barings, which he joined after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand.

There are no further details required to be disclosed under LR 9.6.13 of the FSA Handbook.
