Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Micro Focus International plc ("Micro Focus"; LSE MCRO.L), announces the appointment of Karen Slatford as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

Karen Slatford began her career at ICL before spending 20 years at Hewlett Packard, where in 2000 she became Vice President and General Manager Worldwide Sales & Marketing for the Business Customer Organisation, responsible for sales of all Hewlett Packard's products, services and software to business customers globally. Early experience in sales roles developed into leadership responsibilities for the UK Partner Business. Ms Slatford then ran the UK Enterprise business before assuming the same role at an EMEA level and progressing to global leadership roles in Marketing and Sales.

Ms Slatford holds a BA Honours degree in European Studies from Bath University and a Diploma in Marketing.

Ms Slatford, age 53, holds a number of Board positions. She is Chairman of Neverfail, the continuous availability firm, Chairman of The Foundry, a leading special effects software company and a Non Executive Director at Volex Group plc, the global supplier of components and cables.

Prior to her current Board responsibilities, Ms Slatford has held various roles at Board level since 2001 at a range of technology companies, including Portwise AB, Via Networks, Inc, Compel Group plc, HAL Knowledge Systems and Stepstone ASA.

There are no other details to be disclosed in respect of the requirements of paragraph 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules of the UK Financial Services Authority.
