Cashbox PLC20 November 2006 Cashbox PLC ("Cashbox" or "the Company") Appointment of John Maples MP as Non-Executive Director Cashbox PLC (AIM: CBOX), the AIM listed independent ATM deployer and operator,is pleased to announce that it has strengthened its Board of Directors with theappointment of John Maples MP as a Non-Executive Director. John brings with hima wealth of business experience relevant to Cashbox, including a tenure asChairman of ATM operator Bank Machine Ltd from 2003 until it was acquired byCardtronics Inc in 2005. Mr Maples first became a Member of Parliament for the Conservative Party in 1983and was a Treasury Minister in the governments of both Margaret Thatcher andJohn Major. He has also been Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party, ShadowForeign Secretary and Shadow Secretary of State for Health and Defence. He iscurrently the Member of Parliament for Stratford-on-Avon and a Member of theForeign Affairs Select Committee. Cashbox installs and operates an estate ofATMs, typically on five to seven year contracts, at sites throughout the UKwhere there is a demand for cash withdrawal services and where customers arewilling to pay a convenience fee. Cashbox was granted membership of LINK in March 2004, allowing Cashbox toincorporate its ATMs in the LINK network. Cashbox also has a Bank of Englandsettlement account and became the first IAD in the UK to become completelycompliant with the Triple DES security standard in June 2004. The Company intends that the majority of new installations will use thePlacement Model, whereby the ATM is purchased by Cashbox under lease hire,placed with the merchant and replenished by the merchant, eliminating the needfor third party cash handling costs.
