Appointment of New Senior Independent Director

With immediate effect, David Williams has succeeded David Robins as the nominated Senior Independent Director of Meggitt PLC (the "Company") in accordance with Provision A.3.3 of the Combined Code on Corporate Governance (the "Code") published in 2008. The appointment reflects the fact that David Robins is now considered to be non-independent in accordance with Provision A.3.1 of the Code, having served as a Director of the Company for more than nine years. He will continue to serve on the Board as a non-independent Non-Executive Director.David Williams was appointed a Non-Executive Director of the Company in December 2006 and is Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Remuneration and Nominations Committees. Prior to his retirement in 2006, he was finance director of Bunzl plc and is currently the Joint Chairman of Mondi plc and Mondi Limited and is a non-executive director of Tullow Oil plc and DP World Limited, chairing the audit committee at both
