Origo Partners Appoints New Non-Executive Vice Chairman
Origo Partners Plc ("Origo" or "the Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Shonaid Jemmett-Page as a Non-Executive Director and Vice Chairman of the Company with immediate effect. She succeeds Christopher Jemmett as Vice Chairman who will become Senior Independent Director of the Company.
Shonaid, 52, a Chartered Accountant, has more than 30 years experience as a senior executive working in private equity, consumer goods and financial services in Asia and the developing world. She also has considerable Board level experience and is currently a non-Executive Director of Amlin plc, Close Brothers Group plc, GKN plc and APR Energy plc. Previously she was a Non-Executive Director at Havelock Europa Plc between 2008 and 2010.
Between 2009 and 2012, she was Chief Operating Officer at CDC Group Plc ("CDC"), the UK's Development Finance Institution, which provides debt and equity capital to businesses in developing countries, and currently manages net assets of £2.8 billion. She was responsible for the company's systems and procedures relating to risk management, financial control and adherence to environmental, social and governance standards. She also led the relationship with the UK Government, and was a member of the investment committee.
Shonaid was Global Senior Vice President Finance and Information at Unilever Plc ("Unilever") between 2000 and 2008 where she sat on the Asian Board which oversaw the integration of Unilever's Asian operations into a unified regional business, whilst ensuring that Asia remained the fastest growing and most profitable region for Unilever.
Prior to joining Unilever, Shonaid was a Partner at KPMG where she established and led KPMG's Regulatory Advisory Unit advising global financial institutions on all aspects of financial regulation. Shonaid holds an MA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
