Appointment of new Non Executive Director
The Board of Drax Group plc ("Drax" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that David Clive Lindsell (aged 61) has been appointed as a non executive director. His appointment will take effect on 1 December 2008.
David Lindsell was a partner at Ernst & Young for nearly thirty years. He specialised in audit and assurance services and has extensive experience across a range of industry sectors.
David is a non executive director of Premier Oil plc and a member of the advisory board of Gartmore. He is deputy chairman of the Financial Reporting Review Panel, a member of the Standards Advisory Council of the International Accounting Standards Board and a member of the Supervisory Board of the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group. He was a member of the Turnbull Committee and was a member of the Auditing Practices Board for a number of years.
Commenting on the appointment Charles Berry, Chairman of Drax, said: "The Directors are delighted to welcome David to the Board of Drax. David brings to the Board extensive experience and knowledge from working within the accounting and auditing environment which will be of great benefit to the Company."
There are no further matters which are required to be disclosed under Rule 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules of the Financial Services Authority.
