Appointment of New Finance Director
Lonrho Plc (AIM: LONR), the conglomerate with a structured portfolio of African investments is pleased to announce the appointment of David James Armstrong as Finance Director of Lonrho with immediate effect.
Mr Armstrong (FCA), age 43, brings with him extensive experience of operating across Africa having been, until October 2004, the Commercial Director of Diageo Africa with combined functional responsibility for finance, information systems, strategy and business development. Mr Armstrong contributed to the successful deployment of Diageo's pan-African growth strategy, encompassing over 50 countries. More recently, Mr. Armstrong has been the COO of McArtherGlen in the UK and Europe with retail sales of Euros 1.3billion.
With Mr Armstrong's appointment as Finance Director of Lonrho today, Ms Jean Ellis has stood down as the Company's Finance Director and today assumes the role as a non-executive director of the Company.
