Pure Wafer PLC18 August 2005 18 AUGUST 2005 PURE WAFER PLC ("Pure Wafer" or "the Company") APPOINTMENT OF NEW FINANCE DIRECTOR Further to the announcement of 25 May 2005, when it was announced that PureWafer had begun the process of recruiting a new Finance Director, the Board isnow pleased to announce the appointment, with effect from Monday 22 August 2005,of Mr James Dearing as Group Finance Director. Mr Dearing, aged 29, graduated from Durham University with a degree in Japaneseand Management. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte & Toucheand then worked in the finance department of Dixons Group plc, the electricalretailer. He was subsequently appointed to a senior financial role at ImperialTobacco Group plc. Giles Clarke, Chairman of Pure Wafer, commented: "The appointment of James adds a high calibre finance director to Pure Wafer'sboard at a crucial time in the Company's development. The business is continuingto perform strongly, which makes it all the more important to have a boardstructure in place that is able to manage the successful implementation of itsstrategy for growth."
