Ladbrokes plc announces new CFO

Ladbrokes plc today announced the appointment of Ian Bull to the plc board as Chief Financial Officer. Ian will join Ladbrokes from Greene King plc where he has been Group Finance Director since 2006. He will report to Ladbrokes Chief Executive Officer Richard Glynn, with the appointment commencing on 4 July 2011.

Ian contributed to the successful expansion of the Greene King business through organic growth and acquisition with 2,500 pubs across the UK including the well known brands Hungry Horse, Old English Inns, Loch Fyne Restaurants and Eating Inn. Prior to that, he gained digital experience as CEO Enterprises and CFO BT Retail, in the BT Group. Previous roles have included senior finance positions in The Walt Disney Company and Whitbread plc.

Commenting on the appointment Ladbrokes CEO Richard Glynn said: "We selected Ian after an extensive search because he brings a wealth of knowledge within a regulated leisure sector as well as a background in growing businesses within both the digital and retail space. His experience in operations and of managing a tight focus on costs will also be applied effectively in the Ladbrokes business."

Ladbrokes plc Chairman Peter Erskine added: "I would like to thank Brian for the significant contribution he has made to Ladbrokes. He has played a key role in guiding the business through some difficult times and will leave with us now well placed to build for the future. I am pleased that we have been able to attract an excellent candidate in Ian who, following a handover period, will ensure a smooth transition and the delivery of our ambitious growth plans."

Ian Bull said "I am looking forward to working in this new and exciting area, and to bringing my knowledge and experience to the new Ladbrokes team to help the business deliver its plans for growth in what is a very competitive market."
