Appointment of Merrill Lynch
Clean Energy Brazil plc, a leading specialist investment company focused on Brazil's sugar cane/ethanol industry, is pleased to announce that it has engaged Merrill Lynch in Brazil to arrange a fundraising exercise for the Company. The proceeds of the fundraising will be used to support and develop CEB's existing investments and/or to make new investments in the Brazilian sugar cane/ethanol sector.
Alvarez & Marsal continues to advise Usaciga (49% owned by CEB) in relation to its funding requirements and a further announcement will be made when appropriate. The Company expects to publish its final results for the year ending 30 April 2008 by the end of October 2008.
