Appointment of Jane Zhu in Hong Kong strengthens Asian Offering

Daniel Stewart ("Daniel Stewart" or "the Company"), stockbroker and corporate finance adviser to smaller and medium-sized companies, announces that it has appointed Jane Zhu as a Non Executive Director of its Asian Subsidiary business, Daniel Stewart & Co (Asia) Ltd ("Daniel Stewart Asia"). Ms Zhu, who is based in Hong Kong, is Senior Adviser Asia pacific with the London Stock Exchange. She will take up her Non-Executive role with Daniel Stewart Asia with effect from 1 June 2012.

Commenting on Ms Zhu's appointment Peter Shea, Chief Executive Daniel Stewart, said: "We are of course delighted to have agreed the appointment of Jane, whose deep experience and wide regional knowledge and network will be of considerable value to us as we build our presence in China and South East Asia. Her appointment reflects the level of our commitment to expansion in the region, and we are very much looking forward to working with her."

The appointment of Ms Zhu reflects Daniel Stewart's ambition and progress as it continues to transform its business from one which was previously focused on the UK to one which increasingly has established international distribution and transaction services capabilities. Daniel Stewart already has a representative office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and earlier this year it entered into a joint co-operation agreement with Clarkson shipbrokers, to produce and distribute research in the transportation and related services areas with a primary focus on Asia. In March, the Chinese financial group Jade Global Investments Ltd acquired a 5.65% interest in Daniel Stewart.

The Company has already enjoyed successes with companies in China and South East Asia including, most recently, the successful fund-raising and AIM listing of the Chinese sportswear group Naibu. The Daniel Stewart team is also currently working managing a pre-AIM-IPO fundraising in London and Dubai for Besmindo International plc, an Indonesian oil services group. Other regional AIM projects are currently in the pipeline.
