Appointment of Group Finance Director

HMV Group plc ('HMV') today announces the appointment of Ian Kenyon as Group Finance Director, with effect from 3rd September 2012.

Ian Kenyon joins HMV from Carphone Warehouse plc, where since 2008 he has been CFO of Best Buy Europe, a joint venture between Best Buy and Carphone Warehouse, a business with around 2,400 stores across eight European countries. Previously, he was Group Finance Director of Carpetright plc for three years and prior to that held senior finance roles at J Sainsbury, Kingfisher and St Ives. He is a Chartered Accountant.

Ian Kenyon succeeds David Wolffe, who will remain in post until Ian arrives to ensure a smooth handover.
