Appointment of Executive Director

North Midland Construction PLC ("the Company"), the UK provider of civil engineering, building, mechanical and electrical services to public and private organisations, announces the appointment of a new executive director and the retirement of an executive director.

Andrew David Langman is today appointed to the Board as an executive director. Andrew has served as managing director of the Company's subsidiary Nomenca Limited ("Nomenca") since November 1998. He currently holds 179,100 shares in the Company.

Commenting on the appointment Robert Moyle, Chairman of the Company, said:

"We are very pleased to welcome Andrew to the Board. He has been instrumental in Nomenca's growth and brings a wealth of experience to the Board."

There are no other disclosures to be made under Listing Rule 9.6.13 in respect of Andrew's appointment to the Board.

Douglas Bleakley, who joined the Group in 1999 as Chairman of Nomenca and was appointed to the Board as an executive director in March 2004, has today retired from the Board as an executive director.
