Appointment of Directors and Lifting of AIM Suspension

9 April 2014 TANGIERS PETROLEUM LIMITED Director Appointments Tangiers Petroleum Limited (ASX: TPT; AIM: TPET) (Tangiers or the Company) ispleased to announce the appointments of Mr Michael Evans as Non-executiveChairman and Dr Stephen Staley as Non-executive Director of the Company withimmediate effect. Mr Michael Evans, a Chartered Accountant based in Perth, has extensiveexecutive and board level experience with publicly listed companies in thenatural resources sector spanning 30 years. Michael was the founding Executive Chairman of ASX oil and gas explorer FARLimited, a position he held from 1995 until his resignation in April 2012.Under Mr Evans' stewardship, FAR established and built up an extensiveinternational oil and gas portfolio spanning Africa, North America, China andAustralia - with industry partners including Amoco, Shell, BHP, BP, Exxon,CNOOC, Woodside and Santos, amongst others. Mr Evans is currently theNon-executive Chairman of ASX-listed TNG Limited. Dr Stephen Staley has 30 years' of management and technical experience in theEuropean, African and Asian oil, gas and power sectors, including with Conocoand BP. More recently Stephen was founding Managing Director of upstreamstart-ups Fastnet Oil & Gas plc and Independent Resources plc and aNon-executive Director of Cove Energy plc. He is a Fellow of the GeologicalSociety, holds a BSc (Hons.) in Geophysics from Edinburgh University, a PhD inPetroleum Geology from Sheffield University and an MBA from Warwick University. Further details on the new Directors, including information required under theAIM Rules for Companies, is set out in the Appendix below. With the above appointments, the board of Tangiers is again validly constitutedunder its constitution. As such, the Company's shares will resume trading onAIM today, 9 April 2014. Tangiers will remain suspended on the AustralianSecurities Exchange (ASX) pending the announcement of its financial report forthe year ended 31 December 2013 in accordance with s319(1) of the CorporationsAct 2001. This is expected to occur shortly.
