Connemara Mining Company plc ("Connemara")
Appointment of Director
The directors of Connemara Mining (AIM: CON) are pleased to announce that Mr. Danesh Varma, has been appointed to the board. Mr. Varma has decades of experience in financing and directing mining ventures in Canada and Europe. He is currently a director of a number of listed mining ventures including Anglesey Mining Plc, Minco Plc, Grängesberg Iron AB and Labrador Iron Mines Holdings Limited. He is chairman of the Brook Group with operations in the UK, India and Caribbean. Mr. Varma who is 64 trained as a chartered accountant.
Mr. Graham Reid who has served on the board since 2007 is stepping down. Graham is active as a specialist consultant in Irish base metal exploration and wishes to avoid any potential conflicts. He will remain as Technical Advisor.
John Teeling, Chairman, comments "I am very pleased to welcome Danesh to the board. Danesh is an experienced international financier with a wealth of knowledge, contacts and experience in junior mining companies. He is a valuable addition.
We are sorry that Graham Reid is stepping down as a director though he will remain as our Technical Advisor. Zinc exploration in Ireland is very active and Graham has a number of clients so he feels it right to avoid any potential conflict."
Connemara is a diversified exploration company with principal assets in zinc/lead and gold exploration licenses in Ireland. The company holds interests in 30 licenses covering an area of approximately 1, 169 sq km.
