Kazakhmys PLC02 December 2005 Friday, 2 December 2005 Appointment of Non-Executive Director Kazakhmys PLC ("Kazakhmys"), the London listed metals and mining group, todayannounced the appointment of Lord Renwick of Clifton as a Non-ExecutiveDirector. Lord Renwick, 67, served as British Ambassador to South Africa from 1987 to 1991and as Ambassador to the United States from 1991 to 1995. He is currently ViceChairman, Investment Banking, of JPMorgan Europe and of JPMorgan CazenoveLimited. He is Chairman of Fluor Limited, a Director of SABMiller plc, FluorCorporation and Compagnie Financiere Richemont AG and Deputy Chairman of FlemingFamily & Partners Limited. Lord Renwick has also previously served as a Directorof, amongst others, BHP Billiton PLC, BHP Billiton Limited and Harmony GoldMining Company Limited. He is also a trustee of The Economist. Lord Renwickholds degrees from Cambridge and the Sorbonne. Lord Renwick has agreed to be Chairman of the remuneration committee.
