Thor Mining PLC30 June 2006 THOR MINING PLC Appointment of Director Dated: 30 June 2006 Thor Mining PLC ("Thor" or the "Company") the specialist metals companycurrently focussed on advancing molybdenum and tungsten projects in the NorthernTerritory of Australia today announced the appointment of John Young as chiefexecutive officer ("CEO"), with effect from 30 June 2006. John Alexander Young, aged 40, B App Sc - Geology John Young is a geologist with business qualifications, a proven track recordand approximately 20 years experience as a geologist and exploration manager ingold and specialty metals projects. His experience ranges from grass rootsexploration through to resource definition, feasibility and development. Prior to this appointment he held the position of Exploration Manager withHaddington Resources Ltd, an ASX listed special metals company. He has heldvarious senior positions over the last 10 years with companies in Australia thatinclude: Arrow Resources Management Pty Ltd, Delta Gold NL, Metex Resources NLand Battle Mountain (Australia) Inc. John Young is a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy andhis appointment as CEO will allow Thor to continue to aggressively pursue itscorporate objectives including completing the definitive feasibility study forthe Molyhil Tungsten and Molybdenum Project and the Australian IPO and ASXlisting which was announced on 18 April 2006. John Young has not been a director, shadow director or partner in any company orpartnership in the previous five years.
