Appointment of Director

Frontera Resources Corporation (AIM: FRR), an independent oil and gas exploration and production company, is pleased to announce that Stephen McCaughan Hope has been appointed to the board as director of the Company with immediate effect.

Mr. Hope is founder and managing director of Outrider Management, LLC ("Outrider"), a SEC-registered Investment Advisor based in California. Prior to forming Outrider in January 2004, he was a portfolio manager with Dalton Investments, LLC. Mr. Hope is a highly experienced investor in emerging markets, having been doing so for over 20 years. Mr. Hope is also an executive director of Madagascar Oil Limited, an independent international oil and gas company focused on exploration, development and production opportunities in five onshore blocks in Madagascar. From April 2014 to March 2016, Mr. Hope served as director of Jaguar Mining Inc., a Canadian-listed gold mining, development, and exploration company operating in Brazil with three gold mining complexes.

Mr. Hope holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Princeton University.

Outrider Master Fund LP, of which Outrider Management LLC is general partner, holds the majority of the loan notes which were restructured and issued by Frontera International Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company, with a maturity date of 1 August 2020. Mr. Hope is managing member of Outrider Management LLC.
