Appointment of Corporate Affairs Director

APPOINTMENT OF CORPORATE AFFAIRS DIRECTOR

Filtrona plc ("Filtrona" or "the Company") today announces the appointment of Joanna Speed as Corporate Affairs Director, with immediate effect. Prior to joining Filtrona, Joanna was Investor Relations Director of Reckitt Benckiser Group plc for three years, having previously headed up the IR function at Scottish & Newcastle plc. Before this, Joanna was an equity research analyst with both Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers, and also worked in corporate finance for Robert Fleming. Joanna started her career at Arthur Andersen and is a chartered accountant.

In her role as Corporate Affairs Director, Joanna will be responsible for developing and implementing the Company's communication strategy with its stakeholders, including investors, analysts and the media. Joanna will report to Colin Day, Chief Executive of Filtrona, and will join the Company's Executive Committee.
