As COO, Mr Shinya becomes a member of theExecutive Management Team. Mike Shinya, 48, has spent his career in senior management positions in softwareand services, both in the UK and overseas. Having spent the early part of hiscareer at IBM, he moved to Oracle as a senior sales director and subsequentlyjoined Baan, the enterprise software business, where he was President ofWorldwide operations. From 2001, Mike Shinya was Chief Executive Officer of Sherwood Internationalplc, the software and services business listed on the London Stock Exchange,until it was acquired by SunGard Corporation in 2003.
