Kesa Electricals plc23 February 2006 Thursday 23 February 2006 Appointment of Chief Operating Officer Kesa Electricals plc today announces the appointment of Simon Fox, currently theManaging Director of Comet, as Chief Operating Officer reporting to ChiefExecutive Jean-Noel Labroue. In his new role Simon will be responsible for the development and performance ofComet in the UK and our other businesses, BCC, Vanden Borre, and Datart onContinental Europe as well as the Group's e-commerce developments. Jean-NoelLabroue will continue to oversee the two major businesses in France, Darty andBUT. Simon Fox joined the Group as Comet's Finance & Strategy Director in 1998. In2001 he progressed to the role of Sales Director which incorporated theday-to-day management of the Comet stores as well as the Comet CustomerInformation Centre and Comet's transactional websites. In 2003 Simon wasappointed Managing Director. Prior to joining the Group, Simon was a seniorconsultant with the Boston Consulting Group and was founder and ManagingDirector of Office World. He has an MA from Cambridge University. Jean-Noel Labroue, commenting on the new appointment, said: "We are delighted to announce the appointment of someone of Simon's calibre tostrengthen Kesa's senior management team. He has a strong track record in allaspects of retailing and his experience will be invaluable as we continue todrive growth".Hugh Harvey, currently Comet's Deputy Managing Director (Commercial), willbecome Comet's Managing Director, reporting to Simon Fox.
