Appointment of Chief Operating Officer

Highland Gold Mining Limited ("Highland Gold" or the "Company", AIM: HGM) is pleased to announce that Mr Anton V. Kim has joined the company as First Deputy Chief Executive Officer of its Moscow-based management company, Russdragmet LLC. Mr Kim will serve as Highland Gold's chief operating officer and be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations at the Company's production and development assets.

Anton Kim holds an honors degree in geology and a graduate diploma in engineering science from Lomonosov Moscow State University, as well as an executive MBA from the Skolkovo Moscow School of Management. Prior to joining the Company, he worked at Norilsk Nickel, where he served as Group Mineral Resource Management Director. His previous employment includes several senior management positions at Kazakhmys Corporation.
