APPOINTMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

ANDREW MATHESON - CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Norseman Gold plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Matheson as the Chief Operating Officer for its principal operating subsidiary Central Norseman Gold Corporation Limited (CNGC), effective immediately.

Working closely with the L2 Project Management executives, Mr Matheson will report directly to Mr Kevin Maloney, Chairman of Norseman Gold plc, with his key priorities including:

·; Long term planning and resource allocation

·; Ensuring the optimization of the of the day to day operations

·; Ensuring quality control of the company's output

·; Establishing and monitoring performance reporting systems to the Board

·; Ensuring activities comply with organisational requirements in terms of quality, legal and general duty of care

Mr Matheson has worked for a number of major mining operations including:

·; Aquila Resources

·; BHP (various companies within the group)

·; GHD

Mr Kevin Maloney, Chairman of Norseman Gold plc, stated "Mr Matheson is a valuable addition to the Norseman team and his vast experience in the mining sector at a senior management level will help ensure that the Norseman operation maximises the significant opportunities that exist".
