Appointment of Chief Financial Officer

The Company's principal activity is to invest in growth companies operating in Greater China.

China Private Equity Investment Holdings Limited (AIM: CPEH) is pleased to announce the appointment of Chow Ka Wo Alex as the Company's Chief Financial Officer, with immediate effect.

Mr. Chow is an economist whose previous listed-company experience includes more than five years as an Executive Director with Sino Katalytics Investment Corporation, a Hong Kong Main Board listed investment group, and nearly three years as an Executive Director with Shenyang Public Utility Holdings Company Ltd ("Shenyang Public Utility"), a mainland Chinese utility group also listed in Hong Kong, where he is responsible for overall financial management and planning.

Mr. Chow is also a founder and Managing Director of Karl Thomson Financial Advisory Ltd (Karl Thomson), a corporate finance advisory group whose parent company Karl Thomson Holdings Ltd is also listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. At Karl Thomson, Mr Chow has been responsible for Investment Banking business since 2002.

He previously worked with both Nomura International Ltd and Peregrine Capital Ltd, where he was registered as an Investment Representative with the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission.

Mr Chow has an aggregate of more than 20 years of finance management and corporate finance experience, covering activities in sectors as diverse as M&A, IPOs, and debt and equity advisory work.

He will continue in his positions at Karl Thomson and Shenyang Public Utility.

Ernest Wong will remain as an Executive Director of the Company, and will delegate his former responsibilities as Chief Financial Officer to Mr Chow with immediate effect. No changes to the board of the Company have been made as a result of this appointment.
