Appointment of Chairman of Audit Committee

29 October 2013 FIRSTGROUP PLC APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRMAN OF THE AUDIT COMMITTEE FirstGroup plc ("FirstGroup" or the "Group"), the leading transport operator inthe UK and North America, today announces the appointment of Brian Wallace asChairman of the Audit Committee of the Board, effective immediately, to succeedJohn Sievwright. John will remain a member of the Audit Committee and aNon-Executive Director of the Group. Brian has been a member of the Audit Committee of the Board since January 2013,and has held executive board positions within a number of FTSE 100 and FTSE 250organisations, most recently as Group Finance Director of Ladbrokes plc. Priorto joining Ladbrokes he was Group Finance Director and Deputy Chief Executiveof Hilton Group. A chartered accountant, he began his career atPricewaterhouseCoopers and went on to perform senior finance roles at Geest,APV and Schlumberger.
