Umeco plc ("Umeco") Neil Johnson appointed as Chairman of Umeco plc
Umeco, the advanced composite materials and supply chain services company, announces that it has appointed Neil Johnson as its new Chairman with effect from 19 October 2009.
Neil Johnson currently holds a number of senior Board and advisory positions with public and private companies. He is Chairman of Motability Operations Group Plc (a financial business owned by the UK clearing banks), Hornby Group Plc and Cybit Holdings Plc. He is also a member of a Ministry of Defence Advisory Board and an Independent Member of the Metropolitan Police Authority.
In his executive career he was Chief Executive of RAC Holdings, where he oversaw its successful demutualisation and sale. During this period he was also a member of the UK Motorsport Council and UK Representative to the FIA. He has also held senior executive positions at British Aerospace and in the UK motor manufacturing industry. In the 1980's he was seconded to the Ministry of Defence for a Command Appointment. He also directed the Engineering Employers Federation ("EEF") for a term of office in the early 1990's.
David Porter, interim Chairman and speaking on behalf of the Board of Umeco, said:

Neil Johnson was the chairman of Tenon Group Plc until December 2006 and chairman of Autologic Holdings plc until October 2007.
There are no further details that are required to be disclosed in respect of his appointment under LR 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.
