AVEVA Group PLC12 January 2006 12 January 2006 AVEVA Group plc Appointment of Nick Prest as Chairman AVEVA Group plc, one of the world's leading providers of engineering data anddesign IT systems, today announces the appointment of Nick Prest, CBE to theBoard of AVEVA with effect from 11 January 2006. He will serve initially asDeputy Chairman and will succeed Richard King, CBE as Chairman when he retiresfrom the Board on 31 March 2006. Nick Prest, 52 spent his early career (1974-81) at the Ministry of Defencebefore joining Alvis Plc in 1982 where he became Marketing Director in 1985. In1989 he was appointed Chief Executive and also became Chairman of Avimo Group,an international electo-optics group headquartered and quoted in Singapore inwhich Alvis held 42.5% shareholding. He became Chairman of Alvis in 1996 andserved as Chairman and Chief Executive until 2004. In addition, Nick held a number of appointments in the wider defence industry,including serving as Chairman of the Defence Manufacturers' Association and ViceChairman of the Defence Industries Council.
