GruppeM Investments PLC01 November 2006 Embargoed until 7.00 a.m. 1 November 2006 GruppeM Investments PLC (LSE: GRP, 'GruppeM' or the 'Company') Appointment of Chairman The Directors of GruppeM, the AIM-listed luxury motor retailing group in China,are pleased to announce the appointment of Don McCrickard as Chairman of theCompany with immediate effect. Donald Cecil McCrickard FCIB, aged 69, brings a wealth of commercial andfinancial expertise to the Company. Following an early career in financial/general management and consultancy, he was appointed to head American Express inthe UK in 1975, subsequently assuming responsibility for Amex's businesses inEurope/Middle East/Africa and Asia/Pacific/Australia. He was a Director ofAmerican Express International Inc from 1978 to 1983. In 1983 Mr McCrickard was appointed to the TSB Group (now LloydsTSB) as ChiefExecutive of UDT Holdings and then as Chief Executive of TSB Bank before movingup to become Group Chief Executive of the TSB Group and Chairman of Hill Samuel,its merchant banking subsidiary. He was a Member of the Bank of England'sDeposit Protection Board and a Member of the Executive Committee of the BritishBankers' Association. Following early retirement in 1992, he has devoted much of his time and interestto the Asia Pacific Region, particularly Hong Kong and China. He has writtenand lectured extensively on the subject and has advised several governments andcorporations. Mr McCrickard is also currently the Senior Non-Executive Directorat Brit Insurance Holdings Plc and Vice Chairman of National Counties BuildingSociety.
