Appointment of Chief Financial Officer & Australian Company Secretary
Thor Mining PLC ("the Company" or "Thor"), AIM, ASX: "THR", the specialist metals company focused on advancing tungsten-molybdenum and uranium projects in the Northern Territory of Australia, today announces the appointment of Laurie Ackroyd as Chief Financial Officer and Australian Company Secretary, with effect from 16 June 2009 following the resignation of Damian Delaney, with effect from 16 June 2009. Damian Delaney's resignation is due to the impending relocation of the company administration and accounting offices from Perth to Adelaide over the next few weeks.
Laurence (Laurie) Ackroyd, aged 60, B A - Accounting
Laurie is an accountant with over 45 years experience in the building services, manufacturing and transportation industries where he held senior financial executive and company secretarial positions. He was a Director of the ASX listed company, K & S Corporation Ltd and its subsidiaries for 16 years until July 2007.
Laurie was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of Western Desert Resources Limited on 14 April 2009.
Laurie is based in Adelaide, South Australia.

Western Desert Resources Limited, of which he is Chief Financial officer and Company Secretary, currently holds 24,973,076 Ordinary shares (14.6%) in Thor. Laurie is currently the holder of 500,000 unlisted options, expiring April, 2012 in Western Desert Resources Limited.
