Sierra Leone Diamond Company Ld09 October 2006 For immediate release 9 October 2006 Sierra Leone Diamond Company Limited ("SLDC" or "the Company") Appointment of CFO Sierra Leone Diamond Company Limited (AIM:SLD) the diamond exploration andproduction company, wholly focussed on the country of Sierra Leone, is pleasedto announce the appointment of Mr Jamie Alpen as Chief Financial Officer anddirector, effective 1 January 2007. Jamie Alpen, aged 40, is Finance Director at Cluff Gold plc, the AIM listedcompany focused on the exploration and development of gold deposits in WestAfrica. Jamie has over 10 years international experience in the resourcesector having held various senior finance positions on both corporate and sitebased levels. Jamie is a graduate of the University of New England with aBachelor of Economics and Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management. Jamieis an associate member of the Australian Society of Accountants and a member ofthe Institute of Directors in the UK. The Chief Financial Officer position, in the interim period until Mr Alpenjoins, will shortly be filled by a candidate that is a well experienced FinanceDirector.
