Vedanta Resources PLC04 October 2005 Vedanta Resources plc appoints Chief Financial Officer Vedanta Resources plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. D.D Jalan tothe position of Chief Financial Officer with immediate effect. Mr. Jalan joined Vedanta in January 2001 as President of Australia Operations,with responsibility for the Australian copper mines. Subsequently, he wasappointed to Group Financial Controller, with responsibility for the BusinessControl and Accounting functions of Vedanta. Before joining the Group, he worked with the Aditya Birla Group for 22 years.His last assignment was as Joint Executive President in Birla Copper, where heworked for 5 years.
