African Minerals Ltd04 December 2007 African Minerals Limited ("African Minerals" or "the Company") Board Change African Minerals Limited (AIM:AMI), the mineral and diamond exploration andproduction company with interests focused in Sierra Leone, West Africa, ispleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Roy Pitchford as Chief ExecutiveOfficer, effective 3 December 2007. Mr. Pitchford's appointment furtherstrengthens the Company's Board and adds a wealth of African mining experienceto the executive team. Roy has been a Non-Executive Director of the Companysince 23 July 2007. Mr. Roy Pitchford, aged 57, has over 20 years' senior management and executiveexperience in Southern Africa, over 14 years of which have been in the miningindustry. Roy qualified as a chartered accountant in Zimbabwe and is a Fellow ofboth the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and UK Institute ofDirectors. He is also a past president of the Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe. Inthe mining sector he has been the Chief Executive Officer of Cluff ResourcesZimbabwe Limited, Delta Gold Zimbabwe (Pvt) Limited, Zimbabwe Platinum MinesLimited ("Zimplats"), and African Platinum Plc ("Afplats"). Zimplats, a company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange, established aresource base of platinum group metals and developed the Ngezi Platinum Mine aswell as rehabilitating the Selous Metallurgical Complex prior to its acquisitionby Impala Platinum Holdings Limited. Afplats, a company formerly listed on AIM,also established a resource base of platinum group metals prior to also beingacquired by Impala Platinum Holdings Limited. Commenting on the Board change, Mr. Frank Timis, Executive Chairman of AfricanMinerals said: "We are delighted that Roy Pitchford has accepted the role of CEO of AfricanMinerals as we seek to build a substantial diversified mineral business over thecoming years. In addition to the iron oreprojects at Tonkolili and Marampa, the Company has for the past two years beenundertaking a countrywide, multi element analysis of stream and till sediments,primarily to determine sources of diamonds.
