Associated British Foods PLC01 November 2006 1 November 2006 Appointment of Non-Executive Directors Associated British Foods plc has today appointed, as non-executive directors,Lord Jay of Ewelme GCMG and Javier Ferran. Lord Jay's career has been in public service, culminating in his role asPermanent Under Secretary at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office from 2002 to2006. He was the Prime Minister's Personal Representative for the G8 Summits atGleneagles and St Petersburg in 2005 and 2006, and British Ambassador to Francefrom 1996 to 2001. Michael Jay's earlier career included time at the World Bankin Washington and the British High Commission in New Delhi. Javier Ferran is a partner in Lion Capital LLP, a London-based private equityfirm. He is also a non-executive director of Abbot plc. Mr Ferran spent hisearlier career with Bacardi Limited, latterly as President and Chief ExecutiveOfficer.
