APPOINTMENT - CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Oilex Ltd ("Oilex" ASX: OEX, AIM: OEX) today announces the appointment of Mr Michael Maloney as Chief Operating Officer with immediate effect. Mr Maloney will be based in India reporting to the Managing Director, Bruce McCarthy and be responsible for the development of the Cambay tight oil and gas project. This is a non-Board appointment.
Mr Maloney has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in project selection, execution and operations in senior project management roles. His responsibilities have included contract negotiations, quality assurance and risk management. He has been responsible for major onshore and offshore projects in Australia, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, Timor Sea, Japan and South China Sea. He has previously held senior management positions with Nexus Energy Limited, BHP Petroleum, AGR Asia Pacific and Clough.
The Company is continuing to enhance its technical team in India to ensure the success of the next phase of drilling and development on the Cambay project. Searches are in progress for experienced operations, drilling and engineering personnel with experience in the tight oil and gas industry in the USA and Canada.
Bruce McCarthy said: "We are very pleased to have Mike join us to lead this exciting project in India. Mike has a wealth of engineering and management experience that is particularly relevant for the successful development of the Cambay oil and gas resources."
