Cobham Appoints Michael Wareing As Non-Executive Director
Cobham plc announces the appointment of Michael Wareing as a non-executive director with effect from 1 December 2010. Michael will also become chairman of the Audit Committee when its current chairman, Peter Hooley, retires from Cobham's board of directors in May 2011 after nine years on the Board.
Michael was formerly chief executive of KPMG International and is currently a non-executive member of the Board of Wolseley plc, where he is chairman of that company's audit committee. He is also a member of the Board of Business in the Community and Co-chairman, Business in the Community International (formerly the Global Partner Network) which promotes best practice in Corporate Social Responsibility.
Michael worked for KPMG from 1973 until 2009 when he retired. Between 2005 and 2009 he was Chief Executive Officer, KPMG International, Chairman, KPMG International Executive Team, and Chairman, KPMG Iberoamerica Board.
Throughout his career Michael has been closely involved with a number of charities and public bodies, and served as the Prime Minister's Special Envoy for the reconstruction of Southern Iraq from December 2007 to July 2009. He was appointed a Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George in the January 2010 New Years Honours List.

Cobham confirms that there are no further disclosures to be made under rule 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.

Michael Wareing CMG - Biography
Michael, aged 56, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of KPMG International in 2005. Prior to that he was Chief Executive of KPMG's Europe, Middle East, Africa Region, a position he held from October 2002 to September 2005. Michael was articled as an accountant in Birmingham and joined Peat Marwick Mitchell, the predecessor to KPMG's U.K. member firm, in 1973. Michael has been the lead partner for a number of KPMG's major clients.
