Max CozijnCompany Secretarycc: Directors - BMc/RB/LLB8 December 2008Dear Option Holder

Re: Oilex Ltd 50 cent options expiring 7 December 2008

As you are aware, in 2005 Oilex Ltd (formerly Oilex NL) granted to you options, with an exercise price of $0.50 each, expiring on 7 December 2008.

You will also be aware that one of the conditions in the option certificate that needed to be satisfied to entitle you to exercise the options was for Independence Oil & Gas Limited (IOGL) to have acquired an interest in an onshore petroleum permit issued by the Government of Timor-Leste prior to the expiry date.

To date no onshore petroleum permit has been offered for public bidding by the Government of the Republic of Timor-Leste, nor awarded to any entity (including IOGL).

The condition referred to above has therefore not been met prior to the expiry date of your options and your options therefore lapsed on 7 December 2008.

I thank you for your support of the company.

Yours sincerely,Max CozijnCompany Secretary Rule 2.7, 3.10.3, 3.10.4, 3.10.5 Appendix 3B New issue announcement, application for quotation of additional securities and agreement
