Ltd. of Adelaide, Australia has launched its new StepLogger personaltracking device, which uses Sarantel's GeoHelix-S GPS antenna. The StepLogger is a mobile logging and tracking device that uses GPS to provideaccurate location, FLASH memory to store data, and GSM to transmit data andevents. At the touch of a button an SMS message with the exact location can besent to one or more pre-programmed phone numbers. Sarantel's Geohelix antenna was selected for its high sensitivity in near-bodyuse, its small size, and ease of integration into the StepLogger. These featuresenable the StepLogger to pinpoint location to exacting standards in verydifficult situations. Chris Wood, Chief Technical Officer of NEVE ITS, said: "The Sarantel GeoHelixGPS antenna surpassed NEVE's performance and design expectations, allowing us tomeet and exceed customer requirements for a compact, mobile, non-invasive and, importantly, light-weight personal tracking and logging device. NEVE, whenbalancing performance and ease of integration, needed an antenna that providedexcellent close-to-body performance and small PCB footprint; the GeoHelixantenna gave us that." David Wither, CEO of Sarantel added: "We're pleased to have been chosen by NEVEITS for this project. Developing the StepLogger required some savvy engineeringby the NEVE team, which included an innovative GPS antenna solution.
