In the report, chairman Brian Moritz notes that the company has grown rapidlyfrom an entrepreneurial start-up venture into a business of real substance whichis on the brink of developing its first platinum mine. Highlights of the review period included the completion of a definitivefeasibility study which confirmed that the company's Leeuwkop project is one ofthe most attractive development opportunities on the Western Limb of SouthAfrica's Bushveld Complex. In addition Afplats concluded a 10 year offtakeagreement with Impala Refining Services for the concentrate from Phase 1 of theLeeuwkop project. The greater Leeuwkop project has a resource of some 92million ounces, making it the fourth largest platinum resource base in SouthAfrica.
