Annual Report and Accounts
In accordance with Listing Rule 9.6.1, J Sainsbury plc has today submitted to the UK Listing Authority two copies of the following documents:
Annual Report and Accounts for the 52 weeks ended 22 March 2008
Notice of Annual General Meeting to be held on 15 July 2008.

These documents will shortly be available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document Viewing Facility which is situated at: The Financial Services Authority, 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS.
At the Annual General Meeting on 15 July 2008 it is proposed that the Company's Articles of Association be amended to reflect (i) changes in the law, now in force, following certain provisions of the Companies Act 2006 coming into effect, (ii) changes in the law (other than under the Companies Act 2006), now in force, and (iii) a general update of the Articles to bring them into line with the current market practice of public limited companies. It is also proposed that the Company's Articles of Association be amended with effect from 1 October 2008 to reflect changes in the law under the Companies Act 2006 that will come into force on 1 October 2008. A summary of the proposed changes is set out in the Notice of Annual General Meeting and the revised Articles of Association are available for inspection at the Companies registered office and on the J Sainsbury website at http://www.j-sainsbury.co.uk/articles08.
