ANNUAL REPORT AND ACCOUNTS 2007NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2007
Copies of the following documents are being posted to shareholders today:

* Notice of Annual General Meeting 2007

These documents have today been submitted to the UK Listing Authority and will shortly be available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document Viewing Facility which is situated at the Financial Services Authority, 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS.
The Annual Report and Accounts and Notice of Annual General Meeting will be available on the Company's website at www.matthey.com with effect from 19 June 2007.
The Notice of Annual General Meeting includes a resolution to adopt new Articles of Association. Copies of the proposed new Articles of Association have been submitted to the UK Listing Authority and will shortly be available for inspection through the Document Viewing Facility. Copies will also be available for inspection at the Company's registered office during normal business hours and at the Annual General Meeting from 11am until the close of the meeting.
