ANNUAL INFORMATION UPDATE (AIU)

Introduction
Newcastle Building Society (the Society) published its Annual Report on 1 March 2012 and, accordingly, is submitting its AIU to the UK Listing Authority as required under Part II of the Prospectus (Directive 2003/71/EC) Regulations 2005 (SI No 324 of 2005), and in accordance with paragraph 5.2 of the Prospectus Rules.
The Society is publishing the AIU via the Regulatory Information Service today and is making it available on the Society's website: www.newcastle.co.uk.
