The board of directors (the “Board”) and all directors (the “Directors”) of the Company warrant that there are no false representations and misleading statements contained in, or material omissions from this announcement, and severally and jointly accept the responsibility for the truthfulness, accuracy and completeness of the contents of this announcement.

This announcement is made pursuant to Rule 13.09(2) of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.

Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd. (the "Company") announces that, based on the Company's preliminary statistics, as of 31 December 2008, the total power generation of the Company and its subsidiaries (the "Group") amounted to 126.689 billion kWh, representing an increase of 7.12% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The Group's total on-grid power generation was 119.106 billion kWh, representing an increase of 6.97% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The Group reported an increase in power generation for 2008 over the corresponding period of the previous year, which was mainly attributable to an increase in the capacity of the Group's operational generating units. As of 31 December 2008, the newly installed capacity of the Group's operational generating units increased by 5,162MW when compared to the corresponding period of 2007. Given the shutdown of the power generating units at Xia Hua Yuan Power Plant with a capacity of 200MW, the Group had a net capacity increase of 4,962MW. The breakdown of the new capacity increases are as follows: 1,200MW for Tuoketuo Power Plant Phase IV; 1,200MW for Shanxi Datang International Yuncheng Power Generation Company Limited ("Yuncheng Power Company"); 600MW for Inner Mongolia Datang International Hohhot Thermal Power Generation Company Limited ("Hohhot Thermal Power Company"); 220MW for Qian'an Datang Thermal Power Generation Company Limited ("Qian'an Thermal Power Company") under Hebei Datang International Tangshan Thermal Power Company Limited ("Tangshan Thermal Power Company"); 1,750MW for Chongqing Datang International Pengshui Hydropower Development Company Limited ("Pengshui Hydropower Company"); 152MW for Qinghai Datang International Zhiganglaka Hydropower Generation Development Company Limited ("Zhiganglaka Hydropower Company"); and 40MW for Inner Mongolia Datang International Zhuozi Windpower Company Limited ("Zhuozi Windpower Company").
