This announcement is made pursuant to Rule 13.09(2) of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.
Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd. (the "Company") announces that, based on the Company's preliminary statistics, as of 30 June 2012, total power generation of the Company and its subsidiaries (the "Group") amounted to 97.5877 billion kWh, representing an increase of approximately 1.50% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Total on-grid power generation of the Group amounted to 92.1577 billion kWh, representing an increase of approximately 1.65% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

Note: The 0.0084 billion kWh of power generation for the 2011 first half year
of Hebei Datang International Huaze Hydropower Generation Development Company Limited, a company which was disposed of during the second half year of 2011, was excluded from the total data for 2011.II. Brief Analysis on Power Generation 1. As a result of adjustment on economic structure, slowdown of economic growth, significant decline on the growth of the total power utilization level from the whole society, as well as the plan of the Group to carry out maintenance of the Group's thermal power generation units, the average utilization hours of the Group's thermal power generation units declined, thereby leading to a decline in the power generation of part of the thermal generation units of the Company. 2. The Group's hydro-electric power generation units were affected by an increase in inflow water in the basin where the generation units situated and the expansion in capacity of the generation units on a year-to-year basis. The power generation provided by the hydro-electric power generation units of Chongqing Datang International Pengshui Hydropower Development Company Limited and Chongqing Datang International Wulong Hydropower Development Company Limited demonstrated a more substantial increase on a year-to-year basis. 3. Since the capacity and efficiency of the Group's wind power generation units were enhanced on a year-to-year basis, the wind power generation demonstrated a more substantial increase on a year-to-year basis.
