Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (KS005930, KS005935, SMSN, SMSD) ("SEC") announced today

the record date for SEC's 47th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders ("AGM").

The corresponding book closure period, during which period the shareholders' registry of SEC will

be closed and no transfer of shares in SEC will be effected, and other details of announcement are

provided below. Only those shareholders who are the shareholders of record at the close of

business on December 31, 2015, as listed on the shareholders' registry on the record date, will be

entitled to receive notice of, and to vote, at the AGM.
