Announcement of Extraordinary General Meeting ('EGM') and record date for dividend payments for the first nine months of 2013

Moscow, Russia - October 21, 2013. OAO Severstal ("Severstal"; "the Company"), one of the world's leading vertically integrated steel and steel-related mining companies, announces that the Board of Directors has called an EGM to be held by absentee voting on 17 December 2013. 

The Board has approved the following agenda for the EGM:

- Dividend payments for the first nine months of the financial year to 30 September 2013.

The closing date for the receipt of voting ballots is 17 December 2013. All Severstal shareholders on the register as at 31 October 2013 are eligible to participate.

In the case that the dividend payments for the first nine months of the financial year to 30 September 2013 are approved at the EGM, the record date will be 31 October 2013.
