Appointment of Chairman and Deputy Chairman

Following the death of Andrew Rosenfeld, the Board of The People's Operator plc ("TPO") has appointed Jimmy Wales as Executive Chairman and Gary Hughes as Non Executive Deputy Chairman with immediate effect.

Jimmy Wales said:

"Everybody involved with TPO is hugely saddened by the death of Andrew Rosenfeld. Andrew was a close friend and all our thoughts are with his family.

"Andrew was also a fantastic Chairman. Under him, the highly effective executive team has worked hard to build TPO and to plan its international expansion. We will continue to do that.

"We are determined to build the company so that it can fulfil the vision that Andrew had for it - a successful mobile phone business that contributes to the causes that its customers care about."

Gary Hughes said:

"I was deeply saddened to hear of Andrew's passing. In the short time I have known him it was clear to me he was a good man.

"I look forward to taking on the additional role of Deputy Chairman at TPO, and supporting Jimmy and this excellent management team to develop what Andrew helped create. The company continues to have exciting growth plans, a clear strategy and a compelling business model."
